A Few Stories From the Bench

Assumed my swing had just gotten worse. Turned out three heads in my iron set had softened well below the rest. Swapped them and got the feel back without touching my swing at all.

Wedge looked totally fine to the eye. Hardness reading told a different story — well under spec. New head, same bounce and grind, and the spin I'd been missing came right back.

Never thought about a putter face insert as something you could actually measure until this visit. Explained my inconsistent lag putting before I'd even said what I was struggling with.

Thought my hybrid was just a bad club. Head hardness was fine — the shaft was the actual mismatch, completely unrelated to the rest of my set.

Booked a recheck expecting nothing. Found a soft spot near the hosel from an old bend job two seasons back. Cheapest visit I've paid for and probably the most useful.

Skeptical the full rebuild needed an entire afternoon. It did, and it was worth it — every club in the bag finally feels like it belongs to the same set.
